Marine Terminal Emergency Power Upgrades

This project is funded wholly or in part by the U. S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The work required for this project includes the installation of manual transfer switches to support emergency generators in four sites on the Port's Marine Terminal. At one of these sites, power for the administrative offices will be redirected from a pole mounted transformer to an existing ground mounted PSE transformer. Specifically, the work includes, but is not limited to the following elements: 1. At Site #1, replacement of a 2500A switchboard with a generator connection point and transfer switch as per the plans. 2. At Site #1, demolition of the existing aerial power line and PSE meter and the construction of underground power infrastructure to draw power from an existing PSE ground mounted transformer and to install a generator connection point and transfer switch as per the plans. 3. At Site #2, installation of a generator connection point and transfer switch as per the plans. 4. At Site #3, installation of a generator connection point, transfer switch and an in ground vault as per the plans. 5. At Site #4, installation of a generator connection point and transfer switch as per the plans. Estimated cost range is $200,000 to $250,000 Bids will be received at the Engineering Department, Port Administration Office, 915 Washington Street NE, Olympia, Washington until 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud.
