Design/Build Services for Greensand Filter Effluent Line Repair Project

Due Date: Ongoing

Pre Bid Meeting Date:2018-10-10 00:00:00

The City of Brighton, Colorado by and through its Division of Procurement is soliciting written sealed proposals from qualified Design/Build Teams to perform the Design/Build Services for Greensand Filter Effluent Line Repair Project. The City of Brighton's Greensand Water Treatment Plant ("Greensand WTP") has four filter effluent lines, one for each of the four filters. These lines exit the filters, run through a concrete wall, and enter a pipe gallery. All of these lines leak at the Victaulic joints where the lines exit the concrete wall, with the lines for filters 1 and 4 leaking the worst. The cause of the leaking and the extent of the damage caused by the leaking are not fully understood because the leaks themselves are obscured by the concrete wall and the Victaulic joint. All of the filter lines have leaked a small amount since the plant was originally constructed. In spring of this year, the leaking was greater than had ever been observed before, which prompted City staff to organize this repair project. In addition to the filter effluent line repair, this project also includes the design and construction of a new airgap for the filter to waste line and the construction of a scaffolding that has already been designed. The project will have a design/build delivery method to ensure the project is completed by May of 2020.
