Project is for the construction of paved shoulder on CR2 from CR1087 to SR83 in Walton County. Project consists of roadway, drainage and signing and marking improvements on CR 2 West from Thad Bell Dr. (CMP 0.000) to SR 83 (CPM 5.032) in Walton County. Specifically, the existing pavement will be overlayed and paved shoulders will be added where feasible. No lane widening is being performed. Existing guardrail is also being upgraded along the cross drains and box culverts. The scope for this project does not include the addition of new guardrail segments except to increase the length of advancement at existing guardrail locations. Modifications to the existing drainage features will be provided for the purpose of accommodating the shoulder modifications and increasing the clear width where feasible. Where the drainage structures are modified, the adjoining ditches will be reconstructed to ensure the existing drainage capacity is not reduced by the project in order to comply with permitting requirements.
