Brighton Wastewater Phosphorous Removal Evaluation

The City of Brighton, Colorado by and through its Division of Procurement & Contracts is soliciting written sealed proposals from qualified firms to evaluate and design a method to meet the Brighton Wastewater Phosphorous Removal, as stated in the Request for Proposal. The City of Brighton currently owns and operates a wastewater treatment facility located at 325 North Kuner Road in Brighton, CO. This treatment facility is designed and permitted for a flow of 3 million gallons per day (MGD), which is treated and discharged to the South Platte River. The CDPHE discharge permit number for this treatment facility is CO0021547. The current discharge permit (effective March 1, 2016) requires the City to evaluate, design, and construct an additional treatment process to remove phosphorous to an effluent limitation of 1.0 mg/L by December 31, 2020. The City is required to hire a consultant/professional engineer to evaluate and plan a method to meet this effluent limitation by September 30, 2016.
