The Division of Facilities Construction and Management is seeking proposals for a new water well to be drilled adjacent to the Whiterocks Fish Hatchery located in Uintah County approximately 12 miles north of Ballard, Utah and approximately 1.5 miles northwest of the town of Whiterocks, Utah. Should the proposed well meet the needs of the hatchery, a second well will also be drilled nearby. The approximate legal description of the first well will be N 380' W 640 from E4 Cor. S14 T1N R1W USB&M. A start card has been issued from the Utah Division of Water rights with the change #a39297. The purpose of the proposed well(s) is to provide supplemental water to the Whiterocks Fish Hatchery to the quantity of 1,500 – 2,000 gpm. The material anticipated to be encountered in the well drilling is cobble material which will be the water bearing structure and could range in depth from 85' – 200' bgs. The proposed well is intended to be drilled to bedrock and the production and temperature of the water measured.
