Steam System Improvements Phase 5 Project 620-11-101FCA

This notice is for Project 620-11-101 FCA STEAM IMPROVEMENTS - PHASE 5 at Montrose Campus Route 9A Montrose, NY 10548-1454.
This shall be a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business Set-Aside (SDVOSB). As a result all SDVOSB"s may submit a bid, which shall be considered by the agency. This project is classified under NAICS code 236220, and has a size standard of $33.5 Million. The cost estimate for this project is between $1,000,000 and $2,000,000.
The contractor shall furnish all materials, equipment, supervision, and personnel necessary to accomplish the job for removal and installation of the new steam piping and domestic water systems and associated components on the new concrete pads as shown on the drawings and specifications and perform work specified herein and comply with VA specifications and VA regulations, procedures and conditions for work at the Medical Center and any applicable codes as per requirements of all governing agencies. Work shall include, but not be limited to, selective demolition and modifications to existing heating and domestic water systems, ventilation systems, ceiling, debris disposal, all new work: piping, ducts, insulation, mechanical equipment, wall, floor and ceiling finishing, fire alarm work, new lighting and power work, operational and final system testing and balancing and other related and ancillary work to achieve a fully functional and operating system.
Contractor shall be responsible to coordinate and schedule work to minimize construction duration and shall be expected to plan work typically during duty hours of the Medical Center, other than utility ties-ins or work required in the COTR"s opinion to be performed during off duty hours. Construction Phasing will be required to ensure that all steam piping and domestic water system(s) equipment, associated components; are installed, tested and ready for service at the time of shutdown for building tie-in. Maintain all access to and egress from the buildings at all times for facility"s fire protection requirements and to meet the requirements of regulatory codes, laws, etc.
All other details and information shall be contained in the solicitation which shall be posted on www.FBO.gov. The solicitation will be released on or around May 07, 2013. The bid submittal address, date and time will be included in the solicitation. This project requires bonding and all bid submission shall be in hardcopies; faxed or e-mailed bids will not be accepted. All bidders shall be registered in www.sam.gov, verified by CVE and registered in www.vetbiz.gov, and http://vets100.vets.dol.gov.
