The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Office of Acquisition Operations,
Strategic Acquisition Center, located 10300 Spotsylvania Ave, Suite 400,
Fredericksburg, VA 22408, intends to enter into a contract on the basis of
other than full and open competition for the procurement of a Hospital
Accreditation Services. The VA intends to award a sole source, Firm Fixed
Price Purchase Order to THE JOINT COMMISSION, One Renaissance Blvd.
Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181. The purchase order will be for six surveys and include monthly e-publications and dues, surveys will take place at various VA Medical Facilities during the month of February 2014. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive proposals, a solicitation, or request for offerors. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, quotation or exception to the intent to purchase on a sole source basis, which shall be considered by the Government A determination not to compete is solely within the discretion of the Government. This purchase order will allow VA facilities to maintain their accreditation status while a new requirement is solicited under VA119-14-R-0057 which will be posted on or about January 10, 2014. Justification for this sole source procurement is in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(2), Soliciting from a single source. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code for this effort is 813920 Professional Organizations, with a corresponding small business size standard $14 million.
