The Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission is seeking one Chief Statewide Psychiatric Consultant. The eligible individual is a licensed psychiatrist who has 20 years or more experience in Vocational Rehabilitation. The Chief Statewide Psychiatric Consultant will provide consultation and in-service training for Vocational Rehabilitation staff; represent the Vocational Rehabilitation needs and desires of people with psychiatric disabilities inside and outside the Agency; and advise the Commissioner and senior management staff on issues germane to the employment of people with a mental illness. As the Chief Statewide Psychiatric Consultant, the selected individual will better enable Vocational Rehabilitation professionals to effectively assist consumers with psychiatric disabilities to achieve employment outcomes, aid senior management in making sound organizational and operational decisions in matters of serving people who are mentally ill, and promote general understanding about importance of Vocational Rehabilitation and employment to the recovery and well-being of people who are mentally ill.
