This grant funded program provides outreach, patient/public education, Breast and Cervical cancer screening, referral and follow-up care for low income, un- or under-insured women ages 40 to 64 who are residents of Montgomery County. Program services include a clinical breast exam, pelvic exam and/or Pap test, Colposcopy with or without cervical biopsy, and HPV testing with high risk panel as indicated. Laboratory contractors are required to receive, interpret and notify the WCCP of the results for Pap tests and other cytology services at a cost not to exceed established fees based on Federal Medicare reimbursement rates. Fees include services provided by cytotechnologists and cytopathologists, cost for picking up, interpreting and reporting the Pap/cytology/pathology test results to the WCCP using standardized terminology known as the Bethesda System.
