Comprehensive Recreation, Park and Open Space Plan
Due Date: Ongoing
Washington County's Comprehensive Parks and Recreation Study will be broad based and focus on regionally significant issues and facilities. The main goals of this project are to define county parks and recreation issues, analyze problems and develop recommendations to be used by decision makers on the county level. The study format includes substantial citizen involvement which will ensure maximum public participation throughout the process. All components of the Washington County Department of Parks and Recreation (i.e. mission, goals, facilities, programs, administration, personnel, finance and maintenance) will be examined and analyzed. At least three special focus issues will also be explored. The issues to be included are the status of two current Parks, the need for a new regionally significant recreation facility and linear multi-use opportunities. The final report will set forth proposed actions, priorities and costs projections related to these above topics.
