The Commonwealth of Massachusetts Executive office of Health and Human Services is issuing this Request for Applications (RFA) to solicit applications from qualified, in-state nursing facilities that choose to provide services to MassHealth Members requiring specialized ventilator-dependent services. With this RFA, MassHealth seeks to broaden the availability of nursing facility providers of specialized ventilator dependent services. Interested and qualified Providers may submit an application in response to this RFA at any time. There is no deadline for submission of an application. Each application will be subject to an independent review process and must meet the criteria established under this RFA or any subsequent amendments hereto. Any existing agreements, special conditions or contract amendments for Specialized Ventilator-Dependant Services shall terminate on February 28, 2009. This RFA shall supersede any existing agreements regarding Specialized Ventilator-Dependant Services in nursing facilities and this RFA shall govern participation in the MassHealth program as of March 1, 2009. Pursuant to Amendment #1 to the RFA, any existing agreements, special conditions or contract amendments for specialized Ventilator-Dependant Services shall terminate on April 30, 2009. This RFA shall supersede any existing agreements regarding Specialized Ventilator-Dependent Services in nursing facilities and this RFA shall govern participants in the MassHealth program as of May 1, 2009. An Interested Parties Conference will be held on Friday, March 20, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in the Frank Manning Conference Room, 1 Ashburton Place, 5th Floor, Boston, MA. The purpose of the conference is to seek information and general business questions from prospective nursing facility applicants and other interested parties regarding the RFA.
