OFFICIAL NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS The City of Wauwatosa will receive sealed bids for Boiler and Chiller Piping Modifications at the Wauwatosa Municipal Complex until 11:00 A.M. Local Time, Thursday, July 26, 2012, in the Purchasing Department in the City Hall, 7725 W. North Avenue, Wauwatosa, Wisconsin 53213, at which time all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud in Committee Room No.1 at the City Hall, Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. CONTRACT 12-27 BOILER AND CHILLER PIPING MODIFICATIONS WAUWATOSA MUNICIPAL COMPLEX The work under this contract involves installation of boiler piping, pumps and fittings as required to interconnect the hot water system between the north and south mechanical rooms of the Wauwatosa Municipal Complex located at 7725 W. North Ave., Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. The work also includes installation of new chilled water piping through the building, to a point in the building where it will be stubbed out for future use. The work under this contract is broken down into a Base Bid (as described above) and Alternate Bids which provide for additional chilled water piping, pumps and fittings as required to interconnect the chilled water system between the north and south mechanical rooms of the Wauwatosa Municipal Complex. All work shall be in accordance with Department of Purchases Contract Specification No. 12-27 dated July 12, 2012. Interested parties may obtain copies of the contract documents at the Wauwatosa Purchasing Department, City Hall, 7725 W. North Avenue, Wauwatosa, WI 53213, (414) 479-8958. Documents are available for pick-up weekdays between the hours of 8:00am and 12:00pm, and between 1:00pm and 4:00pm. There is no charge for contract documents. The City will not send contract documents to local contractors or suppliers. However, the City will send out contract documents to non-local firms provided a FedEx number accompanies the request. The firm requesting the contract documents shall pay all costs for the shipping. Bids shall be addressed to the Purchasing Department of the City of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, and marked "Bid for Contract 12-27 Boiler and Chiller Piping Modifications – Wauwatosa Municipal Complex". All bids must be submitted on a form provided for that purpose, together with a bid bond only (cashiers checks are not acceptable) equal to five (5) percent of the bid payable to the City of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, as a guarantee that if his bid is accepted, the successful bidder will execute and file the proper contract documents within ten (10) days after notification of award of the contract. In case the successful bidder shall fail to execute such contract the amount of the bid bond shall be forfeited to the City as liquidated damages. No bid shall be withdrawn after the opening of bids for a period of sixty (60) days after the scheduled time of closing of bids. The time allowed for completion of the work of Contract 12-27 shall be: November 1, 2012. Liquidated damages for failure to complete the work before the date set forth above shall be One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) for each day in excess thereof. In addition to the specified liquidated damages, the Contractor will be charged for each and every day inspection services are required after time of completion has expired. This charge will be based on the actual costs of inspection, construction supervision, clerical and administrative costs and overhead charges. One pre-bid meeting will take place at 9:00 am (local time) on Thursday, July 19, 2012. Interested parties should meet at the City of Wauwatosa Engineering Department, upper level, City Hall, 7725 W. North Avenue, City of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. Attendance is not mandatory.
